INDIANAPOLIS - Two men were killed in two shootings in Indianapolis on Monday night.
The first shooting happened just before 6 p.m. at the Heart's Landing apartments near East 42nd Street and Post Road, police said.
Police were called to the complex on reports of several people fighting. They didn't see anyone in the streets, but as they were driving, they heard gunshots.
Officers were directed to an apartment, where they found the 19-year-old suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several witnesses ran away from the shooting scene, police said.
An RTV6 photographer was moved back from the scene after fights began to break out in the aftermath of the shooting.
The second shooting happened just before 11 p.m. near East 34th Street and Brouse Avenue on the near-east side.
Police confirmed a man had been shot in the chest. He was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital where he later died. Detectives said they found a bag of marijuana and $240 in cash on the victim.
