A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed on the city's east side Sunday.
Police responded to the 2800 block of East New York Street just after 2 p.m.
When they arrived, they found the teen lying in an alley, with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police found a handgun near the man. Detectives do not know if the handgun belonged to the suspect or the victim.
The victim was later identified as Steven Kendall, Indianapolis.
Detectives have not released suspect information, but believe the Kendall knew the suspect or suspects.
