PLAINFIELD, Ind. - Nearly 140 workers at the Pitney Bowes plant in Plainfield will lose their jobs when the warehouse closes in May, state officials said.
Pitney Bowes notified the Indiana Department of Workforce Development about the closing in a letter last Friday.
"Pitney Bowes has decided to notify its employees that in light of current economic conditions, it will permanently cease its operations at its EPMSC facility located at 2812 Airwest Blvd., (in Plainfield)," the letter read.
Company officials said the plant's 137 employees will be given a two-week termination notice beginning on May 7.
According to www.pb.com , the mail and document processing company has an annual revenue of $5.3 billion and 29,000 employees worldwide.
