NEW ALBANY, Ind. - A southern Indiana prosecutor says he's offered a plea deal to the teenager charged with starting a house fire that killed three young siblings.
Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson told reporters after a court hearing Tuesday that he's giving 18-year-old Cody Cashion until an Aug. 5 pre-trial hearing to decide whether to accept the offer.
Henderson wouldn't give details but says Cashion could receive "extended prison time."
Cashion faces three counts of murder for the Jan. 4 fire in New Albany. Authorities say Cashion shot a flare into the house in retaliation for being robbed by a man who lived there but wasn't home at the time.
Cashion's defense attorney didn't immediately return a telephone message Wednesday from The Associated Press seeking comment.
