Police: 1 dead after single-vehicle crash on I-65

LOWELL, Ind. - Indiana State Police said one person died in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 65 Saturday evening.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed a Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on I-65 in the right lane.
For unknown reasons, the Explorer lost control, over-corrected and rolled onto its driver’s side, a media release said.
Police said the vehicle skid a short distance, went off the road and rolled several times before coming to rest on the driver’s side in a ditch.
The driver has been identified as Joyce McQuiller, 42, of Indianapolis.
TMcQuiller was wearing a seatbelt and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Due to the severity of the crash, McQuiller was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jasper County coroner, the release said.
I-65 northbound remained open during the investigation.
