VIGO COUNTY, Ind. - One person was killed and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday along Interstate 70 in Vigo County, police said.

Indiana State Police said the eastbound lanes of I-70 near mile marker 12 were shut down for nearly three hours after the crash that involved a semi-tractor-trailer and two other vehicles.

Police did not immediately release specific details about what caused the crash because of the severity of the injuries and pending notification of family members.

Autopsies were scheduled for Monday afternoon.

The victims’ identities were not released.
