CHURUBUSCO, Ind. - Authorities in northeast Indiana raided a suspected dog-fighting ring and arrested 18 people on misdemeanor charges of attending an animal fighting contest.
The Journal Gazette reported Whitley County Sheriff's Department raided a home in Churubusco, 15 miles northwest of Fort Wayne, about 11 p.m. Saturday. Authorities said they found a bloody pit bull-type dog in a plywood fighting ring and two other dogs were found in the house, including one that was bleeding.
The Whitley County Sheriff's Department said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
