HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. - A high-speed chase that ended in a crash involving four vehicles in Hendricks County late Wednesday morning is connected to a fatal shooting earlier in the day on Indianapolis' south side, police said.
Two people in a stolen SUV led police on a high-speed chase that began near Washington and Lynhurst about 11:30 a.m., police said.

Investigators told RTV6's Jack Rinehart that the chase began during the investigation of a fatal shooting earlier in the day on Indianapolis' south side.
During a news conference Wednesday afternoon, police said they believe the suspects are 15- and 17-year-old juveniles from Indianapolis.
The chase began in the area of 38th Street and Lafayette Road in Indianapolis, moved to Interstate 65, then west on 46th Street, over Eagle Creek before ending at 56th Street and Northfield Drive in Hendricks County when the SUV hit a tree.
Witnesses said the SUV reached speeds of 100 mph or more.
"When we arrived on the scene, we had three vehicles involved. One was a blue SUV that was on fire. There was a red vehicle that was damaged in the front and the rear. There was a Honda Pilot that was also involved," said Stephanie Martindale of the Brownsburg Fire Department.
The two individuals in the Honda Pilot were not injured.
The two people in the red Cadillac suffered the most serious injuries and were taken to St. Vincent Hospital.
The suspects were taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital.
Police said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A gun was thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit and has been recovered by police, police said during the news conference.
Colts kicker Pat McAfee said on Twitter that he was nearly caught up in the crash.
"Ohhhhh My Lorrrdddd I almost just crashed into the run away car in a car chase," he tweeted. "There was my chance to be a hero... Do the sick "tap the back end" maneuver that cops do on TV shows.. And I BLEW it ... Lots of damage here.. Hope every1s all right."
Police said the 15-year-old has been taken in for questioning at police headquarters. The 17-year-old is hospitalized with a medical condition not related to the crash.
