INDIANAPOLIS – A man was followed by police after holding a knife to a baby’s throat Friday night.

Indianapolis police received multiple calls reporting a man walking up and down a street while holding a knife to a child’s throat in the 3400 block of Keystone Avenue.

Officers said they tried negotiating with 19-year-old Tyrin Jones, who they found to be the child’s father, but ultimately tased him to save the child. Police believe the man was on drugs.

The child is now under the care of their mother.

Jones was arrested and faces preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent and resisting law enforcement.
