INDIANAPOLIS - Police arrested a man early Monday morning after he led them on a chase through Indianapolis. And investigators said they may have found the suspected burglar getting away with cash he had just stolen.
Indianapolis police (IMPD) said at roughly 5:15 a.m. that the chase ended at 62nd Street and Guion Road.
IMPD reported there was a burglary at a business early Monday in the 7800 block of Michigan Road. After the burglary was reported, officers said they began to follow a nearby suspicious vehicle.
The car took off, but police said once the car had stopped near 59th Street and Georgetown Road, the driver abandoned it and ran away. He ran toward a nearby neighborhood, Inverness Apartments.
Responding officers caught the man soon after.
Investigators said evidence in the car indicates the man might be a robber or burglar. When they got back to the car after chasing the driver, hundreds of dollars in cash littered the driver's side of the car.
