PUTNAMVILLE, Ind. - An investigation by Indiana State Police regarding child molesting allegations led to the arrest of a Cloverdale man Saturday morning, police said.
Detectives began the investigation after an alert from the Putnam County Department of Child Services on Friday.
Police said Richard Stuart, 21, engaged in various sex acts with a 5-year-old female acquaintance over the last six months.
The molestation took place at a residence in rural Putnam County, authorities said.
Police said Stuart was charged with three counts of child molesting, a Class A felony.
Stuart was incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail with no bond.
