GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. - A 47-year-old father died from gunshot wounds inflicted by his daughter's ex-boyfriend, Indiana State Police said.

Police arrested Austin Tyler Blaize, 23, of Francisco, Ind., in connection with the shooting.

Investigators said Blaize opened fire at his ex-girlfriend's home in Fort Branch, Ind., during a dispute with her new boyfriend Wednesday night.

Blaize entered the residence through the garage then engaged in a fight with the new boyfriend, police said.

As Blaize was leaving the home, he reportedly fired several rounds, and at least one round struck his ex-girlfriend's father, police said.

The father was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
Investigators said they located Blaize at his grandmother's house in Francisco and took him into custody.

Blaize is being held in the Gibson County Jail.
