INDIANAPOLIS - A man was critically injured in a shooting Saturday morning on Indianapolis' north side.

Officers were called to a home in the 600 block of East 34th Street just after 4:30 a.m.

When they arrived, they said they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Medics took the man to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

"He has since been upgraded to serious but stable condition," said Michael Hewitt, Indianapolis police public information officer.

In their investigation, police went to a home in the 6500 block of East 44th Street. A man who was found there was taken in for an interview in connection with the shooting.

"It is not believed that this person being interviewed is the suspect," Hewitt said.

Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS or text tip information to 274627.
