INDIANAPOLIS - Detectives have concluded that the gun used by Brent Walls, who was fatally shot by police, was the same gun used to kill the man’s father.
Walls, 21, used the gun in an attempted carjacking on Aug. 9 in the 2500 block of Shelby Street.
Police said Walls tried to rob a woman sitting in her car. Walls was tracked down and when police ordered him to surrender, he pointed his gun at them.
Police shot Walls and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Walls' father, Charles Walls, was killed June 24.
Detectives believe the physical description of the suspect last seen fleeing the murder scene matches the physical description of Brent Walls.
