Police: Homeowner shot, injured in home invasion

INDIANAPOLIS -
A homeowner was shot and injured early Sunday in a home invasion on the city’s northeast side, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.
About midnight, IMPD officers were called to the 3500 block of Bay Road North Drive on reports of a home invasion.
When police arrived, the homeowner told them two people entered the home through the back patio, investigators said.
While inside, detectives said one of the intruders shot the homeowner twice in the stomach. The homeowner was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital in serious condition, officials said.
Police said the intruders were able to escape the home. They are at-large and believed to be armed and dangerous.
