CLARKSVILLE, Ind. - Police have identified a southern Indiana woman who was fatally shot in the chest early Monday after answering the door of her home.
Police said the shooting happened about 5 a.m. in the 600 block of West Kenwood Avenue in Clarksville when someone banged on the door.
When Lisa McQuirt answered the door, she was shot in the chest. She was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
Police have named Ronald Shewmaker a suspect in the shooting.
He was taken into custody at the Clark County Jail where investigators said he is being uncooperative.
