Police investigate attempted child abduction in Jackson County
Officials: Suspect is white male with red truck

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. - Officials were investigating after the attempted abduction of a child in Jackson County on Tuesday, officials said.
The reported abduction attempt happened in the 300 block of South Armstrong Street in Crothersville at 3:30 p.m., authorities said.
Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department were looking for the driver of a late-model red Ford pickup truck with a red hard bed cover.
Officials said the driver offered a girl a ride. She refused the ride and walked on to her nearby home.
The driver then left the area southbound on South Armstrong Street toward Scott County, officials said.
The driver was described as a white male, with short, light-colored hair.
