BROWN COUNTY, Ind. - A 3-year-old Brown County boy who suffered a gunshot wound Sunday shot himself with a gun he found in a relative's home, police said.
Sheriff's deputies were called to a home at 6319 Spearsville Road in Morgantown early Sunday evening on a report of a child shot.
State police said the boy found a .40-caliber handgun in the home of relative Steven Proctor, and that the gun went off while the boy was handling it.
The boy was airlifted to Indiana University Health's Riley Hospital for Children. His condition was not released Tuesday.
