INDIANAPOLIS - Two people were shot on Indianapolis' north side Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Officers were called to the area of 46th Street and Winthrop Avenue just before 1 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

They found a man lying in the front yard of a home suffering from a gunshot wound.

A short time later, they found another another man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 4600 Carvel Ave.

Both men were taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital -- one in critical condition, the other in serious condition.

Police said they believe the victims may have shot each other.

Detectives said they were provided with a vague description of a possible suspect who was last seen fleeing southbound on Winthrop following the shooting wearing a gray hoodie.
