INDIANAPOLIS - The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is investigating a bank robbery that occurred Friday morning just before noon at the Fifth Third Bank in the 7900 block of U.S. 31 South.

The suspect passed a note to the teller demanding money; no weapon was seen but one was implied, a media release said.

The release said he was last seen fleeing the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, and no vehicle was observed.

Police described the suspect as a white male, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 to 170 pounds with sandy-blonde hair.

He was wearing a black jacket with a dark blue hooded sweatshirt underneath, and there appeared to be a yellow logo on the sweatshirt, police said.

The release said he wore tan or olive pants with white or gray shoes.

The FBI is conducting an active investigation into this incident.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or incident is urged to contact the FBI Safe Streets Task Force at (317) 595-4000 or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.

Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274627 (CRIMES).
