INDIANAPOLIS - Officials released the identity of a body found on the city’s east side late Wednesday night.
The body was found near East 21st Street and North Post Road in a grassy area next to a Home Depot, officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
The Marion County coroner later identified the victim as 43-year-old Stacy Shields III on Friday afternoon.
Police said it appeared Shields had been there for an unknown amount of time.
Officials said an investigation was ongoing into the circumstances of Shields' death.
