INDIANAPOLIS - Police arrested a man Monday morning in the killing of a woman found dead on the northwest side Sunday night.
At roughly 9:23 p.m. Sunday, IMPD was alerted to a man standing outside of the Scarborough Lake Apartments on the 4600 block of Lynnfield Road screaming that his girlfriend was dead.
Inside an apartment, police found a deceased female with obvious trauma.
The man, Chad Gilman, 38, was questioned then arrested in the woman's death.
Police said Gilman is accused of hitting his girlfriend in the head with a hammer during a dispute.
Formal charges have not yet been filed.
Police have not released the victim's name.
