INDIANAPOLIS -  

Police identified the victim of a weekend home invasion as notable Indianapolis jeweler Gary Thrapp.

Investigators said Thrapp was shot twice in the stomach just after midnight Sunday when two intruders broke into his home in the 3500 block of Bay Road North drive.

Thrapp was seriously injured and taken to St. Vincent Hospital.

The intruders escaped the home and police said they are considered to be armed and dangerous.

Detectives said Thrapp is a well-known jeweler who has owned a store near 56 th and Illinois streets for nearly 30 years.
