Police: Man confesses to killing woman in domestic stabbing

SPEEDWAY, Ind. - A man was arrested after he told police he fatally stabbed his girlfriend, detectives said.

Speedway police officers were called to the 1300 block of Norfolk Circle late Tuesday after Brian Murphy, 30, called police and told them he had just killed his girlfriend, Sgt. James Thiele said.

When officers arrived at the home, they found Jessica Syvinski, 37, suffering from stab wounds. She was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where she later died.

Police did not release information about a possible motive behind the stabbing.
