EVANSVILLE, Ind. - An Evansville man was arrested Wednesday after investigators said he built multiple bombs and threatened to kill a police officer.
Franz Corvette Costello, 48, was arrested on charges of possession of a destructive device with intent to harm, a Class A felony, and several other meth-related charges, The Evansville Courier & Press reported.
Police reported receiving a tip from an Evansville resident that Costello -- who narcotics officers had investigated three times in the last year -- was telling people he was going to kill a member of the Meth Suppression Unit, according to a department news release.
When a SWAT team showed up to his house Wednesday night, they found three homemade bombs. Two were next to his bed and another was under his pillow.
The bomb squad disassembled all three bombs at the scene, The Evansville Courier & Press reported.
