INDIANAPOLIS -- Police in Indianapolis arrested a man who they believe drove a vehicle that crashed in early February, killing a pregnant mother.

Representatives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say Demarco Mathews, 31, was driving a car that went over an embankment and flipped over. The woman, later identified as Antoinette Johnson, was ejected and killed.

Johnson's mother said she was seven months pregnant. She also had three other young children.

Police detectives are charging Mathews with leaving the scene of an accident causing death, a Level 5 Felony. They say he ran from the scene without trying to help Johnson or contacting police.
