SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - A 15-month investigation has resulted in the arrest of Talmage Thompson, 51, in connection with stealing more than $86,000, police said.
Police said Thompson was arrested on four Shelby County warrants Thursday morning.
Officials said the investigation revealed that Thompson was operating a financial scheme involving check fraud.
Thompson floated checks between two Shelbyville banks and stole $86,570.42 in a 4-month period in 2011, police said.
Thompson was arrested and transported to the Shelby County Jail and incarcerated without incident, officials said.
Police said Thompson faces charges in connection with corrupt business influence, defrauding a financial institution, theft and check deception.
