WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University police are investigating reports of a man who took photos of women showering at a residence hall.

The incident was reported about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Graduate House, a coed dorm.

Investigators said the man entered the showers on the eighth floor and took photos of two women.

"(The women) immediately contacted police, and within 10 minutes police had a report, so we were immediately able to put out an alert to the entire campus community, as well as people here at Hawkins," said Jeanne Norberg, Purdue spokeswoman.

Police said the man was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with a white design on the back.

University officials urged students to be vigilant in not letting people they don't know into dorm buildings.

"We need to take more safety precautions and not let everybody in," said Purdue student Craig Rhrer.

Sunday's incident was the second report of an intruder in the dorm in less than a week. It's not clear if the incidents were connected.

Purdue police asked anyone with information to call them at 765-494-8221.
