ANDERSON, Ind. - An Anderson mom was arrested Wednesday after she brought a loaded gun to her son's school, police said.
Staff members at Saint Mary's School called police about 9 a.m. when Bonnie Trahan, 27, brought a loaded Glock .40 handgun to a meeting with the school's principal and assistant principal.
According to the police report, Trahan was upset over the way school officials handled an incident involving her 8-year-old son and another student. Trahan said she didn't feel her son was safe at the school and she brought a gun to the meeting to "prove a point."
During the meeting, Trahan pointed to her back pocket and stated how easy it was to bring a gun into the school. She then pulled the gun out of her pocket and threw it on the table, police said.
Trahan then put the gun back in her pocket and walked out of the school's front doors. It was at this time that administrators placed the school on lockdown.
She was arrested in the school's parking lot and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
