PULASKI COUNTY, Ind. -- Officers shot and killed a man Tuesday who was accused of abducting a girl from a house in Warren County.

Investigators say Peter Doffin Jr., 36, drove to a home around 4:30 a.m. and dragged a female juvenile into his SUV then left.

Deputies with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department located the vehicle and tried to stop it.  They chased the suspect through Tippecanoe, Carroll and White counties before his SUV crashed into a police vehicle and a semi on U.S. 421, near the State Road 114 intersection in Pulaski County.

Doffin got out of the Yukon, displaying a weapon, officers said. He made threatening gestures toward the officers, who shot and killed him. The girl was not injured.

No officers were injured.

The chase involved members of the following agencies:

  • Tippecanoe Sheriff’s Department
  • ISP Lafayette Post
  • Flora Police Department
  • Monticello Police Department
