Police: Woman shot in head near 33rd and Clifton streets

Victim hospitalized in critical condition

INDIANAPOLIS - A woman was hospitalized after she was shot in the head Wednesday night on the city's near-west side, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.

Police said the shooting was reported about 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of West 33rd and Clifton streets, in the 3400 block of Clifton.

When officers arrived, they said they found a semi-conscious woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.  The unidentified woman was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives have not released any information on a suspect, but they said they are continuing to investigate several leads and encourage anyone with information on the shooting to contact police at 317-327-3475.
