IMPD: Person in serious condition after shooting on SE side

INDIANAPOLIS - Police were investigating a shooting on the city’s southeast side Wednesday evening, officials said.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1500 block of South Rural Street on reports of a person shot at 9:15 p.m.
911 callers told police that a male left the scene in a vehicle and a suspect vehicle was also seen leaving the scene, police said.
Officials said the shooting victim went to the Village Pantry in the 2300 block of East Raymond Street. Police said he was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, later identified as 33-year-old Fredrick McKinney, was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in serious condition, authorities said.
Officers said they found a possible suspect vehicle near East Minnesota and Renton streets that they said was unoccupied.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
