INDIANAPOLIS - Police are still looking for four men suspected in a break-in at a couple's home near Meridian Hills Country Club, but the vehicle they stole from the home has been found.
The break-in was reported Thursday about 6:30 a.m. in the 7000 block of Spring Mill Road when a man and woman said four men kicked in their back door. The men tied up the couple and assaulted them before ransacking the home, police said.
One of the men who was possibly armed took the keys to a 2006 Black Jeep Commander that was sitting in the couple's driveway, police said.
The suspects were last seen leaving the home in the Jeep, investigators said.
An officer found the Jeep about 11:30 Thursday night in the 3500 block of Pennsylvania Street. The officer said there was nobody in the vehicle, which was locked.
The couple suffered minor injuries in the attack. They ran to a neighbor's home for help where they called police.
Detectives described the suspects as four black men in their late-teens to early 20s, wearing dark clothing.
Anyone with information about this incident or knows the location of the stolen Jeep is urged to call 911, the Robbery/Aggravated Assault Unit at 317-327-3722, or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
