The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said just before 2:30 a.m. in the area of 1200 W. 31st St. officers had heard gunshots. As they were searching for the source of the shots, IMPD said officers found two men who led them on a short running chase. Both men were caught and one of them had a gun on him, police confirmed.
IMPD said at the same time, other officers were sent to a report of a person shot. A woman at 1236 W. 31st St. had been injured by a gunshot wound. She was taken to Wishard Hospital in critical condition. IMPD said the two men arrested nearby are being interviewed to see if they were involved.
Next, IMPD said just before 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot of 5150 W. 38th St.
IMPD said officers who were off-duty nearby witnessed the shooting and apprehended a suspect.

Then, IMPD said at roughly 3:10 a.m., officers headed to the area of 100 S. Meridian St. and found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Wishard Hospital in critical condition.
IMPD said officers and detectives have very little details on the Meridian Street crime at this point, and they’re still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
