RUSH COUNTY, Ind. - Police are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Rush County Jail on Saturday.

Police said Inmate Tony Shreve was working outside the jail on Saturday when a woman was spotted driving toward Shreve.  Witnesses said Shreve jumped in the front passenger side of the car before it sped away.

Police have identified the driver as Amie Dawn Hernandez, 24, of Shelby County, where she has a warrant for violating house arrest.

Shreve is described as a white man about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 140 pounds with blue eyes, short brown hair and a goatee.

Police said Hernandez is a white woman about 5 feet tall, 140 pounds with brown eyes and brown or possibly dyed blonde hair. She also goes by the name Ashley Prez, police said.

Anyone with information or knowing the possible whereabouts of both subjects are asked to contact the Rush County Sheriff’s Department at (765) 932-2931 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
