INDIANAPOLIS - Police were searching Thursday for a man who jumped into Fall Creek after getting into an argument with his girlfriend.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of Indiana Avenue just before 1 a.m. on reports of a person who had fallen into Fall Creek.
Investigators said Robert "Moonie" Stiger, 32, had argued with his girlfriend near a restaurant in the 900 block of Indiana Avenue before climbing over the railing of a bridge and jumping, police said.
Police said the water's current was moving swiftly and Indianapolis Fire Department crews were called to the scene to assist with the search.
IMPD officers walked the creek’s north and south banks, but were unsuccessful in locating any signs of the man.
Stiger was last seen wearing a green zippered jacket with Kermit the Frog hood, a black, blue and white sleeveless T-shirt, gray jeans with black leather flaps over the rear pockets and blue Adidas tennis shoes.
His hair has two layers of braids with the top layer having black beads and the bottom having white, square beads, and he has multiple tattoos.
Anyone with information about Stiger's whereabouts is asked to call police at 317-327-6184.
