INDIANAPOLIS - Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection with a Sept. 30 homicide.
The man is described as a black male with a medium complexion, who is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and is approximately 20 to 25 years old.
Police said the man was seen driving a four-door, white Cadillac Escalade with a sunroof. The man frequents the far northeast side, police said.
Police said they'd like to speak to the man about the Sept. 30 homicide and house fire at 3921 Chateau Drive that left Bryant Steele, 27, dead.
Firefighters responded to the home, near 38th Street and Post Road, just before 7 a.m. and found the home on fire.
When firefighters went into the home, they found Steele dead inside.
In the week following the blaze, police determined Steele was a victim of homicide.
Family members said Steele was openly gay and that they believe the fire may have been a hate crime.
Police are asking anyone with information about the identity or location of the man in the picture to call IMPD Homicide at 317-327-3475. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS or sent via text with "INDYCS" to 274627.
