AVON, Ind. - Avon police are looking for a man and woman wanted in a string of smash-and-grab thefts from cars.
Police said a black male and a white female are suspected in at least 12 thefts of personal items from victims' vehicles that happened between Sept. 18 and Oct. 4.
The crimes have occurred in Avon, Fishers, Franklin, Knightstown and Putnam County, police said.
Police said the thieves targeted vehicles in parking lots at various schools and at a dog park next to a school.
Police said after the suspects break into the vehicles, they then go to Wal-Mart, Target or GameStop, where they use stolen credit cards and money to buy iPads.
The suspects were seen on surveillance video at the Avon Target store Sept. 19, police said. They were driving a white, newer model four-door Dodge Avenger.
Anyone with information about these suspects or thefts is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
