Police seek more victims of kidnapping, rape suspect Michael Parrish

INDIANAPOLIS - Avon police are looking for more victims of a man accused of kidnapping two women from a Wal-Mart parking lot and raping them this month.

Michael D. Parrish, 37, of Indianapolis, was arrested Sunday on charges related to a Feb. 6 attack that began in the parking lot of an Avon Wal-Mart store.

On Friday, Avon police released Parrish's mug shot, and said they are asking anyone else who may have been victimized by Parrish to come forward.

"Mr. Parrish may be involved in other crimes throughout the Indianapolis metro area," said Avon PD Detective Brian Nugent. "Other agencies are working additional crimes that may be linked to Parrish."

According to court documents filed in Parrish's arrest Sunday, Parrish forced two women into their car at gunpoint then drove them -- and a 3-year-old who was also in the car -- to a nearby apartment complex, where he raped them.

Parrish then made one of the women drive them to her Marion County home, where he assaulted and tied up her boyfriend, the probable cause affidavit said.

Court documents say Parrish raped the women again before tying them up, stealing items from the home and fleeing in the woman's car.

Police arrested Parrish Sunday after he was spotted driving the stolen vehicle.

Parrish admitted to the allegations while police were questioning him, and he told officers he used his cellphone to record himself raping the women, according to court documents.

Police said Parrish is also suspected of robbing a woman in the parking lot of a Plainfield Kohl's, and a gun in his possession has been connected to a separate home robbery and sexual assault.

Parrish is currently being held in the Hendricks County Jail on a $1 million bond.
