INDIANAPOLIS - Police seized 11 pounds of crystal methamphetamine from a residence and arrested two men Tuesday.
Jose Cota and Oscar Guiterrez were preliminarily charged with dealing and possession of methamphetamine after Metro police discovered the drugs in their residence on Alpine Drive.
Investigators stopped by the home Tuesday to talk to the men as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, but police said when Cota and Guiterrez saw officers at the door, they closed the door and turned off the lights.
A narcotic K-9 was brought into the investigation and detected narcotics at the front of the house, allowing investigators to get a search warrant, police said.
When police searched the home, they found the drugs hidden in the ceiling of the attic. They also found a scale and $2,400 in cash.
Cota and Guiterrez are both being held in the Marion County Jail on $50,000 bond each.
Initial hearings for the suspects are scheduled for Thursday, and the men could face additional federal charges.
Police said the approximately 11 pounds of meth has an estimated street value of more than $200,000.
