Police shoot at alleged robbery suspect on near north side

Officer believed to have missed

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis police reported firing shots at a robbery suspect near the intersection of 26th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street just before 11 p.m. Friday night.

Police said the shooting occurred on the 2600 block of Ethel Avenue.

An IMPD spokesman said the suspect, who did not appear to be hit, was believed to have been involved in the robbery of a nearby Family Dollar.

A K-9 unit was called to the scene to assist in the apprehension of the suspect.
