HOBART, Ind. - Police said a sleepy driver crashed his vehicle Saturday morning just after 9:30 a.m. on Interstates 80/94.
Indiana State Police said Theodore Dorman, 68, of Kalamazoo, Mich., was driving his Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on I-80/94 when he fell asleep. The Malibu went off the roadway and crashed into a ditch, narrowly missing a light pole.
Dorman's wife, Cynthia Dorman, 64, was also asleep in the passenger seat of the car. She was taken to Saint Mary's Medical Center in Hobart with non-life threatening injuries.
Dorman told police he and his wife had left Yellowstone National Park on Friday and had driven straight through.
