INDIANAPOLIS -- Police say the victim in an early-morning shooting on Indianapolis' west side is being uncooperative, leading to difficulties in the investigation.

The shooting happened outside the Sunset Strip Gentleman's Club on 16th Street around 3 a.m., closing time for the business.

Police say there was a fight between several men, and shots were exchanged outside the building.

There were no suspects on the scene when police arrived.

A man in his mid-20s was shot multiple times. The victim is in stable condition at Eskenazi Health, but police say he's being uncooperative.

Without the victim's help, police aren't sure how many shooters were involved. They're reviewing the security camera video to try and get more answers.

"When you have a lot of people around, once those bullets leave the gun, you don't know where they're going to go," IMPD Captain Michael Jefferson said.
