INDIANAPOLIS - A woman was found lying in the street near a busy downtown intersection during rush hour Monday morning.

Officers were called to North Delaware and East Ohio streets just before 7 a.m. on reports of a person struck.

When emergency crews arrived, they found a 51-year-old woman lying in the street, two blocks away from Monument Circle.

The woman told police she remembered having the right-of-way before she ended up on the ground.

Police said witnesses near the scene said they did not see a vehicle hit the woman.

Emergency crews said the woman had a bruise on her head, but showed no other signs of injury.

The woman was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
