MUNCIE, Ind. - Police have arrested a woman they said tried to abduct an infant at a Muncie home on Friday.
Investigators suspected Judith Ann Walker, 34, who is part-owner of Affordable Pest Control, tried to take a customer's 3-week-old baby during a visit to the customer's home, police said.
Walker was arrested in Anderson later Friday evening. Police said after the attack, Walker went to Anderson to meet with an ex-boyfriend who ended up turning her in.
Police said Walker was conducting a follow-up visit at a home in the 5000 block of West Fernwood Way Friday morning when she wrapped a cord around the homeowner's neck and demanded her baby.
The visit Friday was unannounced, leading police to believe the abduction was premeditated, officials said.
Police said the mother fought Walker off then ran to a neighbor's house, and Walker fled the scene.
Police said Walker was being held in the Delaware County Jail without bond.
Walker faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, criminal confinement and strangulation, officials said.
The ex-boyfriend was also arrested on an unrelated child molestation charge, police said.
