Quadruple-murder suspect back in Bartholomew County

A southern Indiana man considered the sole suspect in the May shooting deaths of four people near Columbus is back in Bartholomew County.

Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department Maj. Todd Noblitt says 56-year-old Samuel Earl Sallee has been booked into the county jail.

The Republic reports  that when Sallee arrived at the jail Thursday, Sheriff Mark Gorbett read to Sallee a warrant charging him with the murders of 53-year-old Katheryn Burton, 39-year-old Thomas Smith, 41-year-old Aaron Cross and 40-year-old Shawn Burton.

Their bodies were found May 11 in a home in Waynesville, about 45 miles south of Indianapolis

Sallee became a person of interest shortly after the slayings but was not formally charged until last month. He has been held in federal custody on a firearms charge since August.
