INDIANAPOLIS -- After she heard the news of Pat Summitt's death, Tamika Catchings didn't go to the gym for practice.

It was only the second time in 15 years she hasn't felt like going to the gym.

Catchings flew to Knoxville see Summitt over the weekend, knowing the end was near for her former coach and mentor.

Summitt coached Catchings from 1997-2001.

The Indiana Fever forward wrote about Summitt Tuesday, describing what it was like to get the phone call about her, and what Summitt meant to Catchings throughout her life.

While it’s not easy not having you here physically, I know you will ALWAYS be with me in everything that I do and all that I stand for. And, I also know that one day we will be reunited in Heaven. Thank you for everything that you represent and for always being my Calm through my Storms. I am forever grateful…
