Reward offered for tips on man who robbed CVS of narcotics

INDIANAPOLIS - Police are turning to the public for help in tracking down a man who robbed a pharmacy of its Oxycontin earlier in October on the city’s west side.

Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana said a reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the man who, just after 6:30 p.m. Oct. 7, robbed the CVS at 5208 W. Washington St. Employees said he handed over a note that said he wanted all the Oxycontin. They said he then pushed his way through the pharmacy door and began loading narcotics into a black bag, jumping back over the counter and running away when he was done.

Police said witnesses described the robber as in his 20s and roughly 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slender build. They also said he was wearing a black and red baseball cap (possibly with a Chicago Blackhawks logo), sunglasses, a dark coat with King Tut graphics on the back, dark pants and white shoes. Witnesses said he was also wearing a blue latex glove on his right hand.

Crime Stoppers said it’s offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the man. To be eligible for the cash reward, those with information must submit it anonymously and directly to Crime Stoppers (317-262-8477). Tips plus “INDYCS” can also be texted to 274637.
