Police: Robbery injured woman, possibly led to police chase

INDIANAPOLIS - Police said they had two out of three robbery suspects in custody after they possibly sent a woman to the hospital and led officers on a Wednesday-morning chase through Indianapolis.

Indianapolis police (IMPD) said originally, a robbery was reported to dispatchers as "property damage" around 6 a.m., but when officers arrived they found a robbery had taken place on the east side of town.

There are few details available about the robbery, but we do know it sent a female victim to Eskenazi Health with minor injuries. Police said they believe the three robbers that later led officers on the chase may have stolen her car during the holdup.

IMPD said the robbers led police on a short chase on Indianapolis' east side, hitting a moving van on Oakland Avenue and then a motorcycle, whose rider may have been injured as well.

When the chase ended in the 200 block of Rural Street, police said three men were seen running from the car. IMPD arrested two of those men, the driver and a passenger.
