Rushville man killed in crash on State Road 3 in Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Ind. - A Rushville man was killed Thursday morning after a two-vehicle crash in Greensburg.

State police said Linda Phillips, 57, of Rushville, was southbound on the State Road 3 bypass just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday when she turned left at a green light onto Carver Street, failing to yield to an oncoming vehicle.

Phillips' Pontiac Vibe was struck on the passenger side by a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Margaret Folkman, 55, of Batesville.

Phillips' husband, 65-year-old Stephen B. Phillips, was sitting in the passenger seat when the vehicle was struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Linda Phillips was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with severe chest injuries.

Folkman and her passenger, 77-year-old Carol A. Firsich, of Greensburg, were both taken to Decatur County Memorial Hospital to be examined.
